La legislación europea contra la discriminación, integrada por las directivas de la UE contra la discriminación y el articulo 14 v el Protocolo 12 del Convenio Europeo de Derechos Humanos prohíben la discriminación en una gama de contextos y por una serie de motivos. En este manual se analiza la legislación europea contra la discriminación derivada de estas dos fuentes, como sistemas
complementarios, acudiendo indistintamente a uno u otro en los casos en que se superponen y resaltando también las diferencias existentes. El importantísimo corpus jurisprudencial desarrollado por el Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos y el Tribunal de justicia de a Unión Europea en el ámbito de la no discriminación hacia conveniente ofrecer un manual asequible, acompañado de un CD-ROM, para los profesionales del derecho de los Estados miembros e la UE y del Consejo de Europa, entre otros, como los jueces, los fiscales, los abogados y los responsables de la aplicación de la ley.
