Neue Ideen für den Sprachunterricht in Schulen

Die Europäische Union (EU) fördert seit langer Zeit das Erlernen von Fremdsprachen und die sprachliche Vielfalt in Europa. Ziel ist es das gegenseitige Verständnis und den Zugang zu anderen Ländern und Kulturen zu fördern. Seit 2002 verfolgt die EU das Ziel, es allen Bürgern vom jüngsten Kindesalter an zu ermöglichen, mindestens zwei Fremdsprachen zu erlernen – das „Muttersprache-plus-zwei“
Prinzip. Dieses Prinzip ist auch im Referenzrahmen für Schlüsselkompetenzen reflektiert. Fünfzehn Jahre später muss die Frage gestellt werden, ob diese Definitionen und Empfehlungen noch angemessen sind; insbesondere im Kontext sozialer Veränderungen wie Migration, Globalisierung, wirtschaftlichen und technologischen Wandels.
