This study provides evidence of the institutional and financial arrangements used to provide financial support for loss and damage. It also analyses EU international cooperation and development funding, humanitarian aid (assistance, peace, and stability) and its relevance in addressing loss and damage associated with climate change impacts and provides an overview of EU’s current levels of support to Article 8.4 cooperation activities. Finally, it identifies the gaps in the mapped financial and institutional arrangements, and analyses new innovative instruments mechanisms, and approaches that can provide developing countries financial resources to avert, minimize, and address loss and damage impacts.
