  This publication is the outcome a procurement procedure under COSME work programme 2016. This report explores the chemical sector’s opportunities for the recovery and utilization of Gaseous Industrial Effluents (GIEs) in the EU. It puts forward recommendations to the European Commission to stimulate the circularity of GIEs in the chemical sector and supports regions in exploring the implementation of the recovery and utilization of GIEs, amongst others through an online Self-Assessment Tool.

  The Energy statistics yearbook groups in a single publication an extensive volume of statistical information relating to the energy economy of the European Union and the Member States, particularly for the most recent year available. The first chapter covers the characteristic data of energy economics in recent years. The second chapter gives an overall view of the trends for the principal aggregates, taken from the 'energy supplied' balance-sheets of the European Union in tonnes of oil equivalent. The third chapter gives historical series for each energy source for the principal aggregates characterizing the structure of energy economics.

  In order to achieve the EU 20% reduction on primary energy consumption target by 2020, a change in consumer behaviour and energy consumption practices is needed. Following this principle, article 12 of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) requires that Member States (MSs) shall take appropriate measures to promote and facilitate an efficient use of energy by small energy customers including domestic customers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). MSs have adopted policies, programmes and measures which aim to promote behavioural change. The measures undertaken are described yearly in the National energy efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP). The aim of this report is to analyse the measures implemented within the EU territory in order to highlight the best practises on information campaigns targeting behaviour change on energy use. Concrete objectives: 1.Analyse the measures implemented so far in the EU Member States (NEEAPS) 2.Select the best practises by sector in terms of Effectiveness, Replicability and Measurability 3.Evaluate the main factors influencing the effectiveness of the measures; strength and weaknesses 4.Make general recommendations to member states for further develop of awareness and information campaigns.
