This report presents a detailed examination of the Part II (Select Case Studies) of Measuring the Quality of Government at the Sub-National Level and Comparing Results with Previous Studies. In the latest round in the EQI – as well as previous rounds – there is noteworthy variation of the relative position of capital regions within EU27 countries. In many cases, the capital is considered to have the lowest, or among the lowest Quality of Government within a country.
