The Guide to Socio-Economic Development (Evalsed) is a web-based resource providing guidance on the evaluation of socio-economic development, describing various methodological approaches and techniques which can be used in evaluation. Evalsed: - provides an introduction to evaluation and its benefits; - takes readers through practical issues in designing and implementing evaluations; - discusses how to develop evaluation capacity and strategies for capacity development; - and introduces specific methods and techniques for evaluation. The printed version of Evalsed is supported by web-based source books dealing with themes and policy areas, more detail on methods and techniques and examples of capacity building in evaluation in the EU. These sourcebooks are designed to evolve and are updated on an ongoing basis.
