The Mission of the City2020 Study was to highlight the role Cities specifically can play in lowering carbon reduction, and the contribution they can uniquely make to a low carbon future for citizens, and for all of us. In this context, we were asked to generate a Framework which could be used to compare ICT-enabled, low carbon activities in one City to those in another. We were also charged with identifying ICT-enabled low carbon initiatives which Cities could undertake to radically reduce the carbon footprint of citizens by 2015.
